Stars Of Stars – Workshop Held For Kids

Rohini Hiremath
To star-lit the summer sky, Chirp, Chatter and Cheer, has created a unique education platform for kids operating in Koper-Khairane.
There idea was to explore formal subjects including History, Science, English and others through creative tools like visualization, story-weaving, performing arts, short film screening, group discussions, theatre, yoga, meditation and more.
On May 25 and 26, a workshop titled “Star of Stars” – A Bollywood route to Environment was being held. Here the kids had talk-walk- rock like their favourite Bollywood stars. However, at the same time they also learnt about natural life-sustaining elements through creative thoughts & expression.
Chirp, Chatter and Cheer had already conducted its first workshop this season on May 18 & 19, 2013 titled – “Son of Sun- a mythological route to environment”. This was a story about a young child leader who inspires even God to come and live on our beautiful earth. Filled with suspense, thrill and humor, the act made its journey back centuries to explore a tiny bead from our great Indian mythology epics.
Ms Kannapiran Founder & Creative Head of Chirp Chatter and Cheer said that, “the theme for this year’s summer camp was environment. Through this workshop we have tried inculcating eco-friendly insights in kids. The idea was to re-visit the significance of the 5 elements of nature – Air, Water, Sky, Earth, Fire and learn more about them through imagination and experience. We initiate our workshops through little fun activities like sketching, dancing, dialogue construction and slowly move to higher grounds like DIY scripting, story construction & character formation”.
